Black, Grey and White
Transparent glaze on marbled clay (#542 and #910) and black slip plus transparent glaze on #910.
Marbled clay bowls, and a black plate that I’ve been wanting to make for a while…
And I was anxious to see how these would come out of the kiln, but I’m still not satisfied with the results. Here is the before:
And the after.
The goose was a total loss :-(.
If you read these lines and you have a recipe for a transparent glaze that will give crisp and clean results at cone 6, (or a special way to proceed), please contact me. I will be forever grateful!

DIY Postcard Swap 2017: Look What the Cat Dragged in
Acrylic, pen and pencil on cardboard
Well, this is it! The drawings for the 2017 iHanna’s DIY postcard swap are done.
#diypostcardswap
I strayed a bit from what I had in mind when I started, but color just had to find it’s way in. So did the cats (that I surprisingly rarely draw). Since there are only so many hours in a week, this is Hello Every Sunday, week 16 as well!

Color Chart
My sister commissioned a painting for her apartment, based on these drawings. It’s been a while since I’ve worked on a big format (36″ x 36″), so I had to dig out my old Liquitex bottles that were aquired in the early 90’s and test to see if I needed to update my stock.
Surprisingly, most of them are still OK! Some are a bit smelly, some are a little clumpy, but workable. At first, I thought I would have to buy new colors, more to the taste of this century, but after making this color chart, I found that once mixed, the possibilities are quite interesting.

Snow Minimalism
We’ve had quite the snow storm this week, so we decided to escape the city for a day and went snowshoeing in the Eastern Townships, where we used to live. :-)
